I never thought we could have a repeat of last years weather but the end of May and beginning of June was just that. Rain, wind, cool temps. The last week or so that has tapered off to showers less often. The blueberries love it. They will be ready a month ahead of schedule.
Back to fishing….. The mayfly hatch started over a week ago and for the most part is over. The walleye and perch we are catching have stomachs full of them. This week has been a great week for big fish. Several 20 inch…23 inch…a few 26 inch and a 30 inch walleye were caught and released. We are finding most of the walleye in 6-8 feet of water in the weed lines in the bays were the water is 5 degrees warmer (68 degrees). The main lake is not producing numbers of fish yet. That will happen soon as the water warms up.

Sharon I’m glad you released that for me when I’m up in a few weeks.
Beautiful fish…..nice going.
Thanks for posting Sharon. I always enjoy reading the latest fishing report. I’m excited about our visit in August. That is one sweet fish. Save a big one for me!
OK…we’re on our way. Save a few for us……See you Saturday
