Fishing On Dinorwic Lake by Pine Sunset Lodge
What a busy summer!!
Fishing On Dinorwic Lake
We were so busy we couldn’t keep up with the reports. I appoligize.
In summary, Fishing on Dinorwic Lake this year was at times slow and other times very good. The weather was much better than last year in that it didn’t rain every week and the temps were pretty much normal. The water level by the end of September was about 18″ low.
Fishing on Dinorwic Lake
Through out the summer there were a lot of very nice Walleye over 18″ that were caught and released. Thank you. And I am sure the fishermen both young and old who catch them next year will thank you over and over again.
The big fish of the lake is the Muskie. We have had several Muskie pushing 50″ and a few over 50″ .
Don’t forget we give away a free trip for the biggest muskie caught from mid-August thru September.
Smallmouth bass are always fun and there were many caught this year. Some over 18″ and 5 pounds.
Northern Pike are all over the lake and mostly small jig thieves but there are some very nice northern over 30 inch like this one caught a walleye rode with 8 pound test mono line and a jig and minnow. Sure was a thrill.
This year the perch were a little harder to find. The best months for perch are usually late August into September but this year we caught more in July.
Lake Trout is a bonus. We don’t have them on our lake but there are a few lakes in the area that are a lot of fun to fish for lake trout. No hugh monters but the 3-8 pounders that are good eaters. Smoked, grilled or fried these fresh water fish are both a fun catch and good eat’n.
