Northwestern Ontario Whitetail Deer Hunting:

The Dinorwic and Dryden areas have become legendary for Whitetail Deer Hunting. Deer hunters from all over North America have been taking notice of all the wild trophy bucks that have been harvested with a few that scored very close to the Hanson Buck. Not only is there a high population of Whitetail Deer; Whitetail Bucks in our area are very large with thick muscular bodies and big racks.

The fertile land and good genetics are responsible for our monster bucks. Overgrowth of softwood and grasses, logged areas and natural clear areas are all prime areas for Whitetail Deer. Having this landscape combined with the hundreds of lakes, ponds and streams in the area have created the perfect environment for the deer to proliferate in high numbers.

It's hard to pick up a Whitetail Deer hunting magazine and not find something about Northwestern Ontario somewhere. Some magazines have been calling the area the Whitetail Triangle. Highway 71, 11 and 17 do form a rough triangle and essentially draw out the area where most of the hottest deer hunting can be found. It does not really stop there. North of highway 11 has many miles of topnotch Whitetail country as well.

All our hunts are in WMU 9A and WMU 8. We offer an unguided do-it-yourself hunt, which is basically just a cabin rental hunt. Our hunters report 95% sightings on nice bucks and 50% choose to harvest a buck to brag about. We also offer a full-service fully-guided hunt on private land. Hunters taking advantage of our private land hunts have enjoyed 100% success so far. We have had some really impressive bucks with many of them over 250 pounds dress weight. If you look at our photo gallery, you will see the bucks in our area have thick necks and nice racks.

Put your hunting skills to the test with this hunt. If you think you are a great hunter then we challenge you to hunt down one of our huge bucks. For a very reasonable rate we rent heated housekeeping cabins by the week. Extra charge items would be hunting license, fishing license, export permit, guide service, pre-hunt orientation, maps, help with removal of game, boat/motor/gas and meals. We limit the number of hunting groups per week so book your week now. The season starts mid-September for Archery, early October for Muzzleloader and mid-October for Rifle and all ends on December 15th. To add a little more excitement to your hunt you may want to think about purchasing a small game license. You will see all kinds of small game out in the bush.
